The Mikhailovsky Theater to Perform in the United States This Fall

For the first time ever, the Mikhailovsky Theater of Saint-Petersburg, Russia is to visit the United States with a tour. November 11th to 23rd, the Russian troupe shall perform on the stage of David H. Koch Theater in the Lincoln Center in New York, and in the Segerstrom Center for the Arts of Costa Mesa, California on November 28th – 30th.

The program of the tour shall include some of world classics, ballet of the Soviet period, as well as modern production to testify to the ongoing evolution of choreographic forms.

The names of the leading soloists of the troupe participating in this tour are associated today with the highest achievements of Russian choreographic art all around the globe. Among them are the phenomenal Natalya Osipova, Ivan Vasilyev and Leonid Sarafanov, who are truly considered world-class performers. During this tour, acts like Giselle, Ou Les Willis, The Flames of Paris, Don Quixote and others will be performed.

Founded in 1833, the Mikhailovsky Theater is among Russia’s oldest opera and ballet houses. It is located in a historical building on the Arts Square in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
